Confessions of a Band-o
For about 15 years my parents had one of my senior photos hung above the fireplace at our family home in Virginia. The picture featured me in a perm with my alto-saxophone laid out in front of me on a mirror and artificial flowers. My triangle hair and poofy blonde bangs are backlit creating a heavenly artificial studio glow. All of the kids in my senior class were treated to similar portraits.
I love instrumental photos but things can go very cheesy very quickly. Just google "awkward marching band portraits". (You're welcome.) So with those search results in mind, my objective is to make timeless portraits. Pictures that can live a long life hanging on the living room wall.
This session with Joey was crunchy-leaf-golden-hour perfection. Three cheers for marching band season and those stunning fall sunsets!
