Behind the Scenes

It's the week of Halloween so no better time to break out the smoke bombs, witch hats and over the top effects.

I decided to share the behind the scenes type shots as well so you can see what it takes to create some of the magic. Smoke bombs are legal in the state of Ohio and I always recommend having a portable fire extinguisher handy. For the shots in front of the church the umbrella was backlit with a off camera flash that fires via transmitter. While it looks like the umbrella was on fire, it was actually just hit with a large amount of concentrated light.

Makeup artist Aimee was our pyrotechnics manager, or as she dubbed herself "smoke bomb bitch." HAHAHA!
